At a young age I was fasinated by capturing pictoral vignettes of the world around me on my poloriod camera. I started a photo studio at age 20 and shot emotionally impactful images for MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), The Minnesota Homeless Project and United Way. An image's ability to cognitively and emotionally affect people stirs my imagination and drives me to photograph. The process is mind - eye - hand, no different than to draw, both behind the camera and using computer tools.

However, I haven't stayed solely in photography throughout my career, I found it important to complete a fine art degree, and work as an art director, collaborating with and directing highly talented photographers. Although these days our photo studio is not involved in anything other than photography I find my diverse creative skills greatly informs my work as a photographer.
